Spread a little ‘Sunshine Power’ this Christmas

WEEE Ireland (the compliance scheme for battery and waste electrical and electronic recycling) have joined forces with the Children’s Sunshine Home incorporating LauraLynn House, Ireland’s first children’s hospice, to give people the opportunity not only to help a charity out this Christmas, but help the environment at the same time! WEEE Ireland hopes to recycle at least 4.5million waste batteries between now and the end of the year as part of this charity initiative. If we reach this target, WEEE Ireland will give Children’s Sunshine Home incorporating LauraLynn House a battery powered electric SUV that will be used by both staff and children at the children’s hospice....

Its scary how many batteries do not get recycled this Halloween!

Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government Phil Hogan T.D today (Wednesday 26th October) launched a new campaign to remind everyone to "Bring Batteries Back", a nationwide initiative to encourage more battery recycling in Ireland.  WEEE Ireland and ERP, the compliance schemes approved by the Minister responsible for WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and waste battery recycling will be facilitating the campaign through their network of battery collection boxes in retail outlets, recycling centres and other collection points nationwide.....

Calling all Office Eco Warriors

Spring Ideal Home Show 2011

                                       

WEEE Ireland will be holding a FREE waste electrical & battery recycling weekend in RDS Simmonscourt, as part of the Spring Ideal Home Show 2011. Every car that brings their household electrical waste or waste batteries for recycling receives a ticket for FREE admission into the show worth ?14! Tickets are valid for Friday 15th or Saturday 16th April, or "2 for 1" on Sunday 17th April. Noraml price ?14 for adults, ?8 Students / OAPs. ....
